What is the Purpose of This Alzheimer’s Study?
This study is exploring whether a new study drug may help reduce hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren't there) and delusions (strongly believing things that aren't true) in people with Alzheimer's disease.
Can My Loved One Participate?
Your loved one may be able to take part if they:
Have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and have been experiencing symptoms such as seeing or hearing things that aren't there, or believing things that are not true, for at least 2 months
Have a family member or care partner who is able to attend study visits and help answer questions about their symptoms
Are between 55 and 90 years old
Fulfill the inclusion criteria for the study
Your loved one may not be able to take part if they:
Are unable to communicate verbally or attend regular clinic visits
Have history of an exclusionary criteria for the study
Other eligibility criteria may apply.
This is a placebo-controlled study; qualified participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study drug or a placebo.
For Care Partners
We know that caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's isn't easy. Your involvement in this study is valued and appreciated. In this study, care partners need to:
Spend enough time with your loved one to be able to accurately report on their symptoms and whether they are taking the study medication as directed
Agree to take part in study assessments and sign a consent form

You and your loved one will receive and sign your respective informed consent to participate in the study.
What is Alzheimer's Disease?
Alzheimer's disease affects the brain and gets worse over time, making it harder for a person to remember things, think clearly, and manage daily life.
As the disease progresses, some people begin to see or hear things that aren't there, known as hallucinations, or develop strong beliefs that aren't true, called delusions.
These experiences can be confusing and upsetting for both the person with Alzheimer's and the people who care for them.
Common Hallucinations and Delusions in Alzheimer’s Patients
There may be other similar behaviors that your loved one may experience.
Seeing themselves in a mirror and thinking that the person is a stranger
Thinking that the wife or husband is an impostor
Thinking that the house where they live is not their own
Seeing animals or people in their home who are not actually there
Thinking that people are stealing from them
Thinking that the spouse is unfaithful
Why Take Part?
This study welcomes both the person living with Alzheimer's and their care partner.
Here's what to know about taking part:
Your loved one will receive study-related medical care and monitoring at no cost
Your loved one may have access to a study drug that is not yet available to the general public
You and your loved one will have access to a dedicated study team who can answer questions and provide support throughout the process
